Krasnūcha: rajonas, kurio nėra?

We crafted the design for the pop-up exhibition “Krasnucha. The District That Isn't There?" to reflect the aural and elusive nature of its subject. The exhibition explores a district in Vilnius known as "Krasnucha"—a name that doesn't exist on any official documents or maps, but lives on through the collective and individual memories of its residents.

Our concept was shaped by the exhibition’s unique venue: a former abandoned archive. We used the existing spatial constraints to our advantage, allowing the physical borders of the space to become our canvas. This design choice not only pays homage to the building’s history but also metaphorically captures the phantom-like quality of the district itself.

To guide visitors through this hidden narrative, we integrated historical materials and artworks that trace the different periods of the district's ever-changing identity. The exhibition is not just a visual journey; it also includes a specially curated walking route so that visitors can experience these spaces directly.
