Museum artifacts, like geological formations, are the fragments of the past that have been unearthed, bearing witness to time, change, and evolution. The idea of a building that cuts into the earth's surface highlights this parallel: its volume seems to emerge naturally from the ground, and its construction process symbolically "unveils" layers of the past, just as archaeological excavations reveal the history of civilizations. In addition, the materiality of the building—earth and clay—is directly related to the processes of cultural formation itself: people used these materials to build their first dwellings, make pottery, and create early cultural artifacts.
